Community projects

One of the best ways to learn is by doing. Within our organisation there are a number of community projects already underway that are applying the many lessons learned from other communities. Check out these projects for inspiration and please make contact with us to be involved and receive updates.

Cooperative people’s farm

Healing, growing and live(love)ing

We have been building a vision for many years and the call to action is now.

Is to create a community space that is based upon cooperative farming that provides a grounding for people of all genders dealing with challenges and changes in life to heal and rebuild themselves. This is not a dew-drop-in and take, yet a landing to rebuild and shine again.

This farm will be in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and will form links to other farms throughout Australia of a similar vision. For more information go to the co-operative people’s farm.

Mary Valley Cohousing communities
For Elders aging in place and for families

Cohousing is an architectual and community model with sifining characterisitics that enables residents to have autonomy and input in the design and operation of their community. It is commonplace in other countries such as Canada, USA, UK and the scandanavian countries yet is relatively unheard nor implemented in Australia. It works for people, planet, wallets and for cultural development.

To address the complex mix of housing unaffordability, housing unavailability, social breakdown, unsustainable ecological practices and cultural homogenisation of modern housing development we believe cohousing provides many solutions. Time for change.

We are in the Dreaming stage of a dual cohousing development in Sunshine Coast Hinterland that offers Elders the opportunity to age in one village within walking distance to a multigenerational village that provides a multitude of benefits to each other.

More information about this project and relationship with others will be available soon.

Sunshine coast hinterland and Mary Valley coworking spaces

Responding to the increase in population in the area and expasion of remote working throughout the world there is a demand for suitable coworking spaces in the region. A business case to implement a network of smaller facilities in rural and small communities that can grow with demand is underway.

More about this project will be forthcoming in Jan 2022.
